Two people lost their lives yesterday in a severe car crash between a car and a truck in Brsečine near Veliki Žali Beach at 15.20 pm. A Fiat Stillo registered in Karlovac was driving towards Dubrovnik when it collided with a Man truck registered in Split that was coming from the opposite direction. Both Australian citizens, a 76-year-old car driver died on the spot, and the 20-year-old car passenger died of fatal injuries in Dubrovnik General Hospital. Another car passenger, a 19-year-old Australian, and the 51-year-old truck driver are both seriously injured. After immediate medical treatment, the Australian was kept in hospital.
It was a Black Friday on all Croatian motorways as well. Six people died, and 15 were injured. Near Našice, a severe accident resulted in death and the police also reported accidents in Pula, Lički Ribnik near Gospić, and Zadar, all resulting in bodily injuries.
