The new season of the festival brings Shakespeare’s ‘Twelfth Night’ to Dubrovnik. The play will be staged in one of the world’s most evocative and atmospheric venues Fort Lovrijenac, from 20th June to 4th of July.

In its first year, the Festival opened at an important milestone: 450th Anniversary of Shakespeare’s birth. Dubrovnik joined the world celebrations of this important year by staging one of the Bard’s most beloved comedies: ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’. The production was a commercial and artistic success and has greatly enriched the cultural offerings in the tourist pre-season.

Festival Midsummer Scene coincides with the beginning of summer, in the last days of June and thus leads into the main tourist season. When Dubrovnik becomes a cultural centre of Croatia and South Eastern Europe.
