New Measures to Protect Against Covid-19 To Be Introduced For the Dubrovnik-Neretva County

In order to maintain a stable epidemiological situation and create conditions for the continuation of the tourist season, new epidemiological measures will be put into effect starting August 31. The chief of the Civil Protection Headquarters of the Dubrovnik-Neretva County, Joško Cebalo, informed the public about the nature of the newly introduced measures.

The measures will limit public and private gatherings in the following order:

– the maximum number of people attending wedding ceremonies and celebrations, commemorations and funerals will be limited to 50, provided that the condolences to the grieving should be expressed without close contact
– the maximum number of people attending private ceremonies and celebrations will be limited at 20 and attended only by family members
– other social gatherings such as events, performances, religious rites, exhibitions, etc. can be held in compliance with all prescribed epidemiological measures, and if held indoors, it is mandatory to wear a protective mask and maintain a physical distance of at least two meters

Experience has shown that larger gatherings such as wedding ceremonies, family gatherings and events represent potential hotspots for virus transmission.

“At the session of the county headquarters we discussed the measures necessary to maintain a stable situation, primarily to protect the health of our fellow citizens, but also to preserve the economy and create conditions for the continuation of the tourist season,” Cebalo added.

The aforementioned measures will be put into effect August 31 for a period of 14 days.
